Inventors include Abees Jibin; Dr. Yogeshwar V Navandar; Dr. K Krishnamurthy; Dr. Bivina Rajendran; and Neeraja Chandrasekhar.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) for virtual reality-based pedestrian safety training and behaviour assessment includes a virtual environment generation module (102) configured to render a three-dimensional immersive pedestrian environment representative of real-world traffic conditions in real time, a user interaction module (104) configured to enable participant movement and interaction within the virtual environment through head-mounted display tracking, motion tracking, locomotion control, and spatial positioning, a behavioural monitoring module (106) configured to continuously capture participant actions during a simulation, a visual attention assessment module (108) configured to evaluate pedestrian scanning behaviour using gaze-based object detection and sequential validation logic, a safety-rule evaluation engine (110) configured to evaluate participant actions against predefined pedestrian safety rules and to classify unsafe pedestrian actions, an event-driven scoring module (112) configured to maintain a safety performance index, a behavioural feedback module (114) configured to deliver adaptive feedback, and a cloud-based data management framework (116) configured to enable automatic transmission, storage, retrieval, and analysis of behavioural records.
