Abstract: A system (102) and a method (300) for controlling irrigation in an agricultural field are disclosed. The system (102) includes one or more sensing units (108), at least one processor (104), a memory (106), a machine learning model, and an irrigation control unit (110) having one or more valves (114) and at least one pump (116). The sensing units (108) generate real-time data indicative of soil moisture and environmental parameters. The processor (104) extracts one or more features from the real- time data and generates one or more input parameters using a crop parameter dataset stored in the memory (106). The machine learning model determines an irrigation schedule including irrigation timing and irrigation duration for one or more irrigation zones. A control signal generated by the processor (104) actuates the irrigation control unit (110) to supply one or more substances.
