Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) for automated evaluation of handwritten answer scripts. The system (100) receives a scanned handwritten answer script and processes the script using an optical character recognition engine (106) to extract raw text. The system (100) corrects OCR errors and anonymizes identifiers to generate cleaned text using a pre-processing engine (108). The system (100) extracts question identifiers using a pattern matching engine (110), which are used to query a database (118) for faculty-defined reference answers, rubrics, and marks. The system (100) generates scores and feedback using an evaluating engine (112). The system (100) analyzes scoring patterns to flag abnormal scripts using a post-evaluation anomaly detection engine (114) and compares batch statistics against historical baselines to detect grading drift using a cohort-aware batch variation detection engine (116). Final evaluated marks, feedback, and validation status are delivered to the user interface (104).
