Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a system (100) and a method (200) for controlling motion of one or more virtual objects. The system (100) includes a data acquisition unit (102) configured to acquire raw sensor data corresponding to motion of a user-controlled device. A processing unit (104) receives the raw sensor data and calculates, by an energy calculation unit (104-2), an energy metric based on variation between successive sensor values. The processing unit (104) determines a user intent state by comparing the energy metric with a predefined energy threshold and selects a smoothing factor accordingly. A filtering unit (104-3) applies a smoothing function to generate a stabilized output signal. An output unit (104-4) transmits the stabilized output signal to a rendering engine for transformation of one or more virtual objects.
