Inventors include Dr Ramya Bojedla; and Dr Syam Kumar Yelamanchidr Syam Kumar Yelamanchi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM FOR CRANIOMAXILLOFACIAL AND ORTHOPAEDIC RECONSTRUCTION The present disclosure relates to a composition, a method for preparing the composition, and a system for implementing the composition for craniomaxillofacial and orthopaedic reconstruction. The composition comprises silk fibroin microfibres; a polymer matrix including polycaprolactone (PCL), and poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) or poly(L-lactide-co-D, L-lactide) (PLDLA); a calcium phosphate ceramic phase comprising hydroxyapatite (HA), tricalcium phosphate (TCP), biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP), borate glass, bioactive glass; and a bioactive agent. The method for preparing the composition comprises the steps of raw silk processing, preparation of the composite filament, 3D printing and injection moulding of composite filament to obtain bone scaffolds, screws and plates. The system comprises a material processing assembly, a filament extrusion unit, a 3D printing apparatus, a moulding apparatus and a control unit. The said composition is intended for fabrication into craniomaxillofacial reconstruction plates, resorbable screws, interference screws, meshes, grafts, segmental defect scaffolds, and orthopaedic load-sharing implants.
