MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641087877 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 17, 2026, for System For Evaluating Mental Health Resilience Of Urban Green Spaces.
Inventors include Dr. V. Sivakumar; Kamaleshwar An; and Riya Parikh.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING MENTAL HEALTH RESILIENCE OF URBAN GREEN SPACES A system (100) for evaluating mental health resilience potential of urban green spaces comprises a processor (102) and memory (104) storing instructions that cause the system (100) to receive an environmental image (106) and environmental parameters (108). The system (100) processes the environmental image (106) through a vegetation detection module (110) to estimate vegetation coverage by converting the image from RGB to HSV color space and applying threshold segmentation. The system (100) computes an Environmental Capacity value based on positive factors including vegetation coverage, shade level, and exposure duration, and computes a Stress Pressure value based on stress indicators including noise level and crowd density. The system (100) calculates a Context-Aware Green Resilience Index score by subtracting the Stress Pressure value from the Environmental Capacity value and classifies the urban green space into a resilience category.
