Abstract: The present invention discloses a system for thermal management of a wheel hub motor. The system (102) comprises a housing (104) defining an internal cavity enclosing a stator with motor windings and a rotor configured to rotate relative to the stator. An oil reservoir (106) within the internal cavity stores electrically non-conductive cooling oil. One or more oil-splashing members (108) on a rotating component circulate the electrically non-conductive cooling oil for splashing on the stator and the motor windings during operation to absorb heat and transfer absorbed heat to the housing (104). A sealing assembly (110) between the housing (104), rotating component, and non-rotating component retains the electrically non-conductive cooling oil within the internal cavity. A plurality of heat-dissipating fins (116) on an outer surface of cover components associated with the housing (104) provides an elevated surface area to transfer the absorbed heat to an external environment through natural convection.
