MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647127576 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on October 26, 2026, for Systems And Methods For Differentiable Pulse Generation.

Inventors include Rao Mv, Achuth; Sautiere, Guillaume Konrad; Skordilis, Zisis Iason; and Rajendran, Vivek.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for audio coding and/or audio processing are described. In some examples, the audio system receives pitch information associated with audio (e.g., speech). In some examples, the audio system processes one or more pitch features (of the pitch information) to generate a corrected pitch. The audio system processes the pitch information and/or the corrected pitch using a differentiable pulse generator (DPG) to generate a pulse signal (e.g., a pulse train). The audio system generates reconstructed audio using the pulse signal. In some examples, the audio system generates the reconstructed audio by passing inputs through a multi-stage encoder, the inputs being based on spectral features, the output of the DPG, and/or a multi-stage downscaler. In some examples, a pitch of the reconstructed audio is based on the pulse signal.
