Abstract: Systems and methods of enabling dataset identifier (ID)/model ID consistency for handover when using artificial-intelligence (AI)-based air interface mechanisms are disclosed. In some embodiments, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a source cell, a handover command instructing the UE to perform a handover to a target cell; performs the handover to the target cell in response to the handover command, the handover comprising sending, to the target cell, a handover complete message comprising an indication of whether the UE has an AI/machine learning (ML) model for processing signaling of the target cell that is performed according to a network- side condition; receives, from the target cell, an activation command instructing the UE to use the AI/ML model; and processes, in response to the activation command, using the AI/ML model, the signaling of the target cell. Corresponding functions for the target cell and the source cell are discussed.
