MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109577 A) filed by G. L. Bajaj Institute Of Technology And Management on September 12, 2026, for Tamper-Resistant Vote-Capture Terminal For Digital Voting Systems.

Inventors include Mrs. Bhawna Singh; Akash Singh; Amit Kumar Singh; Avneet Singh; and Bipin Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a vote-capture terminal having an enclosure with a module bay, a removable record module containing power contacts, data contacts, and non-volatile storage, and a contact carrier movable toward the module. An access closure is coupled by a linkage to the contact carrier and a module retainer. A ballot-input assembly includes selection members and a submission member selectively blocked by a blocker, and an encryption circuit couples the ballot-input assembly to the contact carrier. Closing movement of the access closure causes the linkage sequentially to retain the removable record module, engage the power contacts, engage the data contacts, and release the blocker. Actuation of the released submission member causes the encryption circuit to write an encrypted vote record representing an actuated selection member to the non-volatile storage.
