MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101706 A) filed by Sharda University on August 22, 2026, for Tattoo Ink Radiation Evaluation Phantom.

Inventors include Dr. Mohit Sahni; Mr. Surya Pratap; and Dr. Manindra Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is an acrylic phantom apparatus for evaluating radiation-beam interactions with tattoo ink. The apparatus comprises an acrylic body defining an ink- receiving chamber and a plurality of ionization-chamber cavities, and an ink insert for retaining a tattoo ink sample. First and second thimble-chamber cavities and a parallel-plate-chamber cavity are disposed at respective measurement positions, with the parallel-plate-chamber cavity positioned nearer an irradiation surface than at least one thimble-chamber cavity. A fiducial space contains fiducial markers fixed relative to the acrylic body and defining an XYZ coordinate frame in which the ink- receiving chamber and the measurement positions are spatially referenced. The ink-receiving chamber is disposed directly above or adjacent to at least one measurement position to maintain a defined spatial relationship between the tattoo ink sample and an ionization chamber during irradiation.
