Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide a dynamic non-uniform antenna sub-array and a precoding matrix indicator for the antenna sub-array. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling indicating a quantity of antenna ports associated with a channel state information report. The UE may transmit control signaling indicating the channel state information report, and the channel state information report may include an antenna port subset indication based on the quantity of antenna ports. The antenna port subset indication may be associated with a non-uniform antenna sub-array pattern. The UE may receive one or more messages in accordance with information included in the first channel state information report.
