Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may determine a first quantity of first candidate sequences and a second quantity of second candidate sequences. Additionally, the device may obtain an initial index representing an initial sequence of bits to be communicated by the device, where the initial index is less than a product of the first quantity and the second quantity. Additionally, the device may extract a first index and a second index from the initial index, where the first index is less than the first quantity, the second index is less than the second quantity, and the initial index is a function of the first and second indices. The device may determine a first sequence based on the first index and a second sequence based on the second index, and may transmit a signal indicative of the first sequence and the second sequence.
