MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647089359 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 22, 2026, for Techniques To Determine Pathloss Reference Signal.
Inventors include Yang, Luanxia; Guo, Shaozhen; Khoshnevisan, Mostafa; Xu, Changlong; Zhang, Xiaoxia; Sun, Jing; Chen, Siyi; Gaal, Peter; Zhou, Yan; and Xu, Hao.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) operating in an uplink dense deployment may receive a medium access control-control element (MAC-CE) that is indicative of one or more activated transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states. The UE may also receive a downlink control information (DCI) message that is indicative of one or more TCI codepoints corresponding to at least one active TCI state. In some aspects, the MAC- CE, the DCI message, or both, may also include an indication of a pathloss offset, a pathloss scaling factor, or both. The UE may then, using a rule, determine a pathloss reference signal (PL-RS) to which the pathloss offset, the pathloss scaling factor, or both, is applied, and may communicate with one or more uplink transmission reception points (TRPs) in accordance with a measured pathloss associated with the determined PL-RS.
