Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: Tetracyanobutadiene-Functionalized Conjugated Microporous Polymer for Visible-Light Photocatalytic Degradation of Pollutants A tetracyanobutadiene-functionalized diketopyrrolopyrrole-based conjugated microporous polymer for visible-light photocatalytic degradation of environmental pollutants in wastewater treatment applications is disclosed. The conjugated microporous polymer addresses limited visible light absorption and inefficient charge separation in conventional photocatalysts. The polymer comprises a donor-acceptor molecular architecture within a cross-linked polymer framework, including a diketopyrrolopyrrole core serving as an electron- deficient chromophore unit, triphenylamine units covalently linked to the diketopyrrolopyrrole core serving as electron-rich units, and tetracyanobutadiene moieties covalently incorporated into the polymer framework serving as electron-deficient units. The conjugated microporous polymer exhibits permanent microporosity and generates reactive oxygen species upon visible light irradiation for photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants including dyes, antibiotics, and pesticides in aqueous media (Fig. 1).
