Abstract: ABSTRACT THEMATIC ROLE COLLISION DETECTOR FOR LEGAL CONTRACT AMBIGUITY ANALYSIS A computer-implemented method and system for detecting thematic role collisions in legal contract documents. The method includes receiving a legal contract document, segmenting the document into clauses with scope identifiers, applying semantic role labeling to generate role triples comprising entity identifiers, predicate lemmas, and role labels, and constructing a thematic role graph where entity nodes connect to predicate nodes via role-labeled edges. A collision detection module traverses the graph and queries a predicate compatibility rule base to identify entities holding incompatible role assignments, classifying collisions as hard conflicts or soft ambiguities. A severity scoring module computes scores using a weighted formula incorporating conflict class, frequency, and predicate specificity. A report generator produces structured ambiguity reports with highlighted clause text, graph fragments, severity scores, and natural language explanations. A rewrite suggestion module generates disambiguation candidates using template-based paraphrasing.
