MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611109598 A) filed by Manav Rachna University on September 12, 2026, for Thermal Energy Storage Apparatus.

Inventors include Dr. Bhim Singh; and Dr. Joginder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a thermal energy storage apparatus comprising a thermally insulated vessel defining a heat-transfer-fluid flow path and multiple removable phase-change- material cassettes supported within the flow path. Each cassette comprises a sealed housing, a phase-change-material compartment, a heat-transfer wall exposed to the flow path, heat-transfer fins extending into the compartment, a movable expansion plate, and a resilient compensation assembly acting between the movable expansion plate and a base of the sealed housing. The heat-transfer fins terminate before the movable expansion plate to preserve a plate-travel region. Expansion of phase-change material displaces the movable expansion plate into the plate-travel region against the resilient compensation assembly. Contraction of the phase-change material permits return of the movable expansion plate toward the heat-transfer wall while the sealed housing remains fixed relative to the heat-transfer-fluid flow path.
