MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611051533 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Kanpur on April 22, 2026, for Toggle Switch Based High-Power Latching Circuit.
Inventors include Singh, Jitendra; Nandi, Aniket; Bhashkar, Avinash; and Gupta, Shakti Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: A high-power latching circuit (106) for controlling power delivery from a DC source (102) to a load (104) comprises a momentary toggle switch (108), a first N-channel MOSFET (206) with a gate terminal coupled to the toggle switch (108), and a capacitor (212) coupled to the first N-channel MOSFET (206). The capacitor (212) alternates between charged and discharged states based on successive actuation inputs. A second N-channel MOSFET (208) has a gate terminal coupled to the toggle switch (108) and a drain coupled to a gate terminal of at least one P-channel MOSFET (110) connected between the DC source (102) and load (104). When charged, the capacitor (212) enables the second N-channel MOSFET (208) to drive the P-channel MOSFET (110) to deliver power. When discharged, the capacitor (212) enables the circuit to cease power delivery from the DC source (102) to the load (104).
