Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system (100) and a method (500) of traffic management. The system (100) operates as an intelligent acoustic-based traffic management architecture that uses one or more distributed acoustic sensing nodes (104) to continuously capture roadway sound signatures such as honking, engine activity, tire–road interaction, and emergency sirens. Captured audio streams flow into a noise classification and event detection unit (106), which identifies traffic-related acoustic events using machine learning models. These classified events are processed by a multi-factor noise trend analysis unit (108), which performs short-term forecasting of noise intensity, honk probability, and congestion likelihood. A decision and policy unit (110) interprets these predictions and selects context-aware actions for traffic control. Selected actions are executed through a traffic signal interface controller (112) for timing adjustments and through a lane management unit (114) for dynamic lane allocation.
