Inventors include Yang, Shuang; and Vos, Johannes Godfried.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an anode for use in alkaline water electrolysis, comprising cathodically electrodepositing a coating layer comprising cobalt and optionally a lanthanide on a surface of a nickel-comprising substrate in the presence of an aqueous electrolyte having a pH between 1 and 6.5 as measured at 25 °C and comprising a cobalt-comprising hydrated salt and optionally a lanthanide-comprising hydrated salt at a current density between 100 A/m² and 2500 A/m². The invention further relates to an anode comprising a substrate comprising nickel and a coating layer comprising cobalt and optionally a lanthanide, wherein a bulk phase of the coating layer comprises metallic cobalt.
