A carrier housing is to accommodate the first planetary gear set (108) and the second planetary gear set (110) and is configured to deliver rotational motion from the input shaft (102) to an 10 output shaft (130) of the electric vehicle. An actuation assembly (134) selectively engages one of the first planetary gear set (108) and the second planetary gear set (110) to the input shaft (102).
