The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: A triple-port interfacing converter for photovoltaic, battery and supercapacitor integration in DC microgrids is disclosed, intended for use in renewable energy based systems. The converter is a single-stage structure comprising three actively controlled switches (S1, S2, S3), inductive elements (L1, L2, L3) and capacitive elements (C1, C2, C3), which together enable bidirectional power flow among a photovoltaic port, a hybrid energy storage port and a DC bus port in continuous conduction mode. A battery supplies sustained energy while a supercapacitor, passively connected in parallel, absorbs transient and peak power components, reducing battery stress. A digital controller implements competitive mode selection to choose among single-input dual-output, dual-input single-output, photovoltaic-to-storage and storageto- DC-bus operation, executes a drift-free perturb and observe maximum power point tracking algorithm, and regulates the DC bus at approximately 48 V. The invention is suited to renewable based DC microgrids and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
