Abstract: Provided is an ultrasound endoscope system that improves operability of an ultrasound endoscope. Provided is a system including an insertion part that is inserted into a subject, a plurality of transducers that are provided on a distal end side of the insertion part and that transmit and receive ultrasound waves, an observation window that is provided on a proximal end side of the plurality of transducers in the insertion part, an imaging element that captures an optical image through the observation window, a treatment tool outlet port that is provided on the distal end side of the insertion part and that is an outlet port for a treatment tool, an elevator that is provided at least partially between the plurality of transducers and the observation window in a longitudinal direction of the insertion part and that is able to change an outlet direction of the treatment tool led out from the outlet port, and a processor that performs control of displaying the optical image captured by the imaging element on a display device, in which at least a part of the elevator is included in a first optical image displayed on the display device by the control in a case where the observation window is in air, and the elevator is not included in a second optical image displayed on the display device by the control in a case where the observation window is in water.
