MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621072820 A) filed by Pdpm Indian Institute Of Information Technology, Design And on June 12, 2026, for Universal Custom-Cooled Fixture For Heat-Intensive Fabrication.

Inventors include Srivastava, Manu; Rathee, Sandeep; Mohan Pandey, Pulak; Badoniya, Pushkal; and Nabi, Shazman.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A universal custom-cooled fixture system (100) for heat-intensive fabrication processes comprises a fixture body (102) having a hardened top surface configured for universal mounting on machine beds, further ,includes a plurality of conformal cooling channels (104) embedded within the fixture body (102), an inlet port (106) and an outlet port (108) in fluid communication with the conformal cooling channels (104), and a motor-driven coolant pumping and control system (110) configured to circulate cooling fluid through the conformal cooling channels (104). A first temperature measurement device (116) and a second temperature measurement device (118) are positioned at the inlet port (106) and outlet port (108) respectively to measure temperature differential. A monitoring and data acquisition system (120) calculates heat extraction efficiency. The system (100) provides active heat extraction, thermal stability, and dimensional accuracy during heat-intensive fabrication processes such as wire arc additive manufacturing, friction stir processing, and hybrid manufacturing operations.
