Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle UAV (100) including a fuselage (102) integrated with a laterally extending wing body forming a manta-ray-inspired planform is disclosed. An outer aerodynamic shell (104) defines an airfoil-shaped external surface configured to enhance lift distribution and lateral stability during flight. An internal load- bearing frame (106) disposed within the fuselage (102) includes reinforced ribs extending along the fuselage (102) and the wing body to support aerodynamic and landing loads. An intermediate lattice core (108) is positioned between the outer aerodynamic shell (104) and internal load-bearing frame (106), the intermediate lattice core (108) incorporating a gyroid or hexagonal cellular lattice geometry configured for controlled progressive crushing under impact loading. The intermediate lattice core (108) partially surrounds a flight controller (110) and a battery module (112) to dissipate impact energy prior to transmission to internal load-bearing frame (106). The fuselage (102) transitions between extended and compact configurations via hinged connections.
