MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110127 A) filed by Sharda University on September 14, 2026, for Upper Limb Motion Device With Scapular Restraint And Scapular Angle Sensing.
Inventor includes Sharma, Rita.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an upper limb motion device (100) for passive rehabilitation of an upper limb of a subject. The device (100) includes a frame (102), an arm support (104-2) mounted to the frame (102), a pivot (106-2) that guides the arm support (104-2) along a horizontal plane, and a drive unit (108) that displaces the arm support (104-2) through a predetermined angular range. A scapular rest (110-2) with a strap (110-4) drawn about a chest wall holds a scapula against the scapular rest (110-2), an angular position sensor (112) generates a scapular angle signal, and a control panel (116) generates an indication on the scapular angle signal reaching a threshold. The control panel (116) halts displacement of the arm support (104-2) on the scapular angle signal reaching the threshold.
