Abstract: A vehicle accident detection and GSM alert device, comprising a sensing unit 101 mountable in a vehicle configured to generate sensor signals indicative of collision or abnormal impact, a processing unit 102 operatively coupled to the sensing unit 101 to continuously monitor the sensor signals and detect an accident event based on at least an impact threshold, a location unit 103 configured to determine a geographical location of the vehicle, a GSM communication unit 104 operatively coupled to the processing unit 102 configured to transmit an alert message responsive to the detected accident event, and an alert routing unit 105 configured to transmit the alert message to a plurality of recipients comprising at least one of emergency contacts, a hospital, or an authority.
