Abstract: A vehicle-integrated hazard detection and mitigation system, comprising a rectangular frame 101 beneath a front lower chassis portion of a vehicle via a plurality of electromagnetic locking units 102, a plurality of protective plates 105 connected with each other via sliding rails 107 to form cascading-like arrangement to extend beneath and upward toward a front bumper portion of the vehicle, a plurality of inflatable protection patches 108 to inflate upon detection of an impact risk and deflate after the risk has subsided, an inspection module to generate real-time three-dimensional road surface data for detecting pedestrian and other vehicles in surrounding along with road obstacles, an analysis module to process hazard data and to provide first level protection, and a driver alert unit to generate visual, audible, and tactile alerts corresponding to hazard type and severity to provide second level protection.
