Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle-mounted pothole detection and automated road repair apparatus that integrates sensing, measurement, filling, and compaction in a single mobile platform. A road surface scanning module comprising cameras and/or laser- based sensors scans the roadway to detect potholes. A depth measurement system determines pothole width, length, and depth, and a control processing unit classifies surface irregularities and computes the required quantity of repair material. A material storage and dispensing unit includes a heated tank storing asphalt or quick-setting repair compound and a controlled nozzle that deposits the repair material into the pothole. A compaction and finishing mechanism compacts the filled material and smooths the surface to match road grade. The apparatus operates in real time while the vehicle is in motion, enabling rapid on-site repair, reduced manual labour, lower maintenance cost, improved road safety, and minimal traffic disruption.
