Abstract: The present invention relates to a vertical louver assembly (3) for compact Secondary sub-stations (CSS) and switchgear, designed to manage ventilation effectively during different operational conditions. The louver assembly (3) is mounted on the CSS door (2) and comprises fixed horizontal louvers (3.1), a vertical louver driver (3.2), a vertical louver driven (3.3), a vertical louver support plate (3.4), a support rod (3.5), and a louver cover (3.6). During normal operation and temperature rise (TR) tests, the vertical louver driver (3.2) and driven (3.3) remain open, allowing air flow through the gaps. During internal arc fault (IAF) tests, the pressure causes the vertical louver driver (3.2) to rotate, closing the gaps and containing thermal and pressure effects. This automatic operation enhances safety and ensures efficient cooling, providing a reliable and versatile ventilation solution for CSS and stand-alone switchgear panels. FIGURES 2 AND 3
