Abstract: ABSTRACT VISION-BASED INDUSTRIAL SAFETY APPARATUS WITH CONFIDENCE-WEIGHTED RISK COMPUTATION AND DETERMINISTIC HARDWARE ENFORCEMENT A vision-based industrial safety apparatus (100) includes an optical sensing unit (10) capturing video frames of an industrial environment encompassing an operator authorization zone (20) and a hazard zone (30). A human detection and tracking module (A) identifies persons and generates tracking identifiers and bounding boxes (50). A per-person feature extraction module (B) computes a detection confidence scalar, velocity magnitude, directional alignment parameter, zone intrusion flag, and detection uncertainty scalar derived from variance of detection confidence scores across a sliding temporal window. A confidence-weighted risk computation module (C) computes a per-person risk upper bound by adding to a mean risk scalar a product of the detection uncertainty scalar and a configurable safety margin scalar. A temporal risk accumulation module (D) generates a temporally stabilized risk value. A deterministic state classification module (F) classifies an operational state as IDLE, AUTHORIZED, or HAZARD, wherein hazard zone presence unconditionally causes HAZARD classification. A microcontroller safety module (H) and physical actuation module (I) actuate indicators and a machine stop output.
