The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The Voice Based Wheelchair Controller is an assistive mobility system designed to improve the independence and movement of physically challenged and elderly individuals through voice-operated control. The system uses speech recognition through a smartphone application to convert spoken commands into digital signals, which are transmitted wirelessly via an HC-05 Bluetooth module to an Arduino Uno microcontroller. The controller processes the commands and operates DC motors through an L298N motor driver to perform movements such as forward, backward, left, right, and stop. Powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, the proposed system provides a low-cost, simple, and efficient wheelchair control solution using easily available electronic components, with future scope for integration of obstacle detection, IoT, and advanced voice recognition technologies.
