MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115630 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on September 26, 2026, for Vortex-Based Cleaning Water Separator With Removable Sediment Collector.

Inventors include Raj Patel; Rohit; and Sanjeev Kumar Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vortex-based cleaning water separator (107) configured to separate relatively heavier suspended solid contaminants from incoming water. The separator (107) comprises a separation chamber (103), a water inlet (101), a water outlet (102), an inner cylinder (105), a sediment collection region (106) and a removable sand collector (104). Incoming water enters the separation chamber (103) through the water inlet (101) to generate a swirling flow; whereby centrifugal forces cause relatively heavier particles to move toward the chamber wall and downwardly toward the sediment collection region (106). The separated sediment is received and retained in the removable sand collector (104), while relatively cleaner water moves toward the inner cylinder (105) and exits through the water outlet (102). The separator operates using hydraulic and gravitational forces without requiring external electrical power.
