Inventors include Dr. Soumya Pandit; Dr. Mohit Sahni; Dr. Babita Tripathi; and Dr. Kavita Khatana Bhati.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is a wastewater remediation apparatus including a support structure, a zinc oxide treatment body carried by the support structure, an inner photocatalytic region formed in the zinc oxide treatment body and configured to generate reactive oxidative species under illumination, an outer adsorption region disposed over at least a portion of the inner photocatalytic region and configured to retain pollutant molecules from wastewater adjacent to the zinc oxide treatment body, and a fluid-contact arrangement adapted to direct wastewater into contact with the outer adsorption region so that retained pollutant molecules are maintained in reaction proximity to the inner photocatalytic region. The outer adsorption region is differentiated from the inner photocatalytic region by at least one of porosity, defect concentration, crystallinity, and surface reconstruction.
