Abstract: ABSTRACT WEARABLE DEVICES FOR EXAMINING TARGETS Wearable devices for examining a target are disclosed. The target may be suspected of having a problematic cellular entity, such as a pathogen, 5 cancerous tissue, or necrotic tissue. The wearable device includes a light source assembly with light sources that emit excitation radiation at predetermined wavelengths to illuminate the target and cause fluorescence. An image sensor assembly captures fluorescence-based images of the target in response to illumination. A processor analyzes the captured images using an 10 analysis model trained on reference fluorescence-based images to detect presence of problematic cellular entities. The processor generates an extended reality environment and renders results corresponding to the detection for viewing by a wearer. The wearable device may capture additional images including white light images, oxygenation-based images, and three-15 dimensional images for enhanced detection. The analysis model may classify problematic cellular entities by family, genus, species, gram type, or strain.
