Abstract: ABSTRACT WEARABLE INSPECTION ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VERIFYING MECHANICAL STRUCTURE INSPECTION A wearable inspection assistance system (100) and a computer-implemented method (200) for verifying inspection of a mechanical structure are disclosed. The system includes a head-mounted unit (102) supporting a camera (104), a display module (106) having a micro-display (108) and a transparent optical combiner (110), a user input interface (112), and a processing unit (114). The camera captures inspection video while the display module (106) presents inspection information within a field of view of a user. The processing unit (114) receives the inspection video and user inputs, and transmits corresponding data to a computing system (116). The computing system (116), using an object detection model (120), identifies inspection components (118) and determines inspection completeness relative to a reference inspection sequence. The method includes capturing (202), displaying (204), receiving (206), processing (208), generating (210), transmitting (212), analyzing (214), and determining (216) to produce an output (122) indicative of missed inspection steps.
