MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110880 A) filed by Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun on September 16, 2026, for Wearable Mesh Communication Device For Voice, Gnss Location Sharing, And Emergency Rescue Signalling.
Inventors include Vedant Saxena; and Manika Manwal.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to wearable communication and safety systems for remote and high-altitude environments, and discloses a wearable device, system, and method that provide autonomous mesh-based voice communication, GNSS location sharing, and emergency rescue signalling without a fixed base station or central controller. A primary processing unit based on an ESP32-S3 under a real-time operating system cooperates with an SX1276 LoRa transceiver, a NEO-8M GNSS module, real-time clock, inertial measurement unit, barometric pressure sensor, temperature sensor, audio subsystem, power subsystem with solar-assisted charging, thermal control subsystem, and user interface within an IP67-rated impact-resistant enclosure. The device performs concurrent mesh networking, dynamic node discovery, routing maintenance, sensor fusion, low-bitrate voice processing, adaptive power management, and peer authentication. Upon manual or automatically detected emergencies, rescue-related packets containing updated location data are prioritised, relayed over single-hop or multi-hop links, and repeatedly propagated, including by store-and- forward operation, until acknowledgement is received.
