Abstract: A wearable multimodal sensing system (100) for knee osteoarthritis risk assessment may be provided. The system (100) may comprise a wearable assembly (102) securable to a lower limb, a motion sensing unit (104) having inertial sensors (106, 108) on the thigh and shin, a flexion sensor (110) across the knee, a plantar pressure sensing unit (112) having heel and forefoot pressure sensors (114, 116), and a joint vibration sensor (118) proximate to the knee joint. A controller (120) may be configured to verify and calibrate the sensors and to acquire the signals concurrently during a movement test. An analysis module (130) may be configured to filter the signals, extract and combine features, and classify a risk level as low, medium or high. An output unit (140) may present the risk level, and a communication module (124) may transmit a referral message.
