MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641093225 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on July 31, 2026, for Wearable Respiratory Device For Environmental Monitoring And Airflow Regulation.
Inventors include Soumya Ranjan Mahapatro; Saurav; Avishkar Jaiswal; Harsh Yadav; Suryoday Pratap Singh; and Garv Rawat.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a wearable respiratory device (100). The device (100) includes a sensor assembly (102) configured to detect environmental data corresponding to at least one pollutant parameter, a filtration assembly (104) configured to regulate airflow, and a controller (202). The controller (202) is caused to receive the environmental data, identify a temporal variation pattern associated with the environmental data, predict an exposure condition based on the temporal variation pattern, determine an exposure risk value based on the environmental data and the predicted exposure condition, determine a filtration demand value based on the exposure risk value, verify an authenticity parameter corresponding to a filtration cartridge, and actuate the filtration assembly (104) to regulate airflow based on the filtration demand value upon successful verification of the authenticity parameter.
