MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641093653 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 03, 2026, for Wearable System And Method For Predictive Mobility-Risk Assessment And Adaptive Hazard Warning.
Inventor includes Vishnu Priya Arivanantham.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a wearable system (100) for predictive mobility-risk assessment and adaptive hazard warning comprises a smart-glass platform (102), an environmental perception module (104), an inertial measurement unit (110), an onboard Edge AI processing module (116), an audio feedback unit (112), and a vibration feedback unit (114). The environmental perception module (104) comprises a forward-facing RGB camera (106) and a depth-sensing subsystem (108) for acquiring environmental image frames and depth measurements. The onboard Edge AI processing module (116) generates a user-motion state representation (120), compensates user-induced motion, determines residual motion, and identifies independently moving hazards. The system (100) determines hazard proximity, relative approach behaviour, predicted interaction likelihood, environmental complexity, and user-motion characteristics to generate and continuously update a mobility-risk score (136). A risk categorization module (138) categorizes the score, while an adaptive hazard warning module (140) controls audio and vibration notifications during navigation.
