MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611115962 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering And Technology Niet on September 28, 2026, for Wind-Resilient Autonomous Flight Control System For Multirotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicles In Urban Environments.
Inventors include Ms. Prachee Srivastava; and Mr. Anurag Jha.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a wind-resilient autonomous flight control system (100) for multirotor unmanned aerial vehicles operating in building-dense urban environments. The system comprises an onboard wind estimation module (110) using sensor fusion from an inertial measurement unit, multi-axis airspeed sensor array, barometric altimeter and motor current sensor array with dual-layer estimation to produce real-time wind state, a gust-resistant trajectory planning module (120) that evaluates terrain-building clearance at wind-displaced positions using a dynamic wind-risk cost map and model predictive control, and an active rotor compensation controller (130) implementing feed-forward compensation based on wind rate-of-change and per-rotor differential thrust allocation based on spatial wind gradients across the airframe. The three subsystems are interconnected through a wind-state communication bus (150) in a triangular closed-loop architecture enabling continuous data exchange at multiple time scales.
