Abstract: ABSTRACT WOUND DRESSING CONTAINING A FRANGIBLE RESERVOIR WITH HYDROGEL-BASED ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITION FOR CONTROLLED RELEASE The present invention relates to a wound dressing comprising an adhesive backing layer, an absorbent pad, a frangible reservoir, and a release liner. The frangible reservoir contains a hydrogel- based antimicrobial composition and is configured to rupture upon application of mechanical pressure by a user, thereby releasing the composition onto the absorbent pad. The hydrogel comprises povidone-iodine and polymeric components providing controlled release. The dressing ensures stability during storage, uniform distribution upon application, and sustained antimicrobial activity for effective wound management. Reference
