Abstract: A yarn winding machine includes a pair of bobbin holders (41, 42), a first bobbin holder motor, a turret plate (40), and a control apparatus. Each bobbin holder of the pair of bobbin holders holds a bobbin. A drive apparatus rotationally drives the bobbin holder to wind a yarn onto the bobbin to form a package. The turret plate (40) moves the bobbin holders (41, 42) between a winding position, a collection position, a first switching position, and a second switching position. The control apparatus performs control for starting rotation of the first bobbin holder (41) in a direction to wind the yarn, after the yarn switching and before the first bobbin holder (41) reaches the collection position, such that the first bobbin holder (41) is rotating in the direction to wind the yarn at least when the first bobbin holder (41) reaches the collection position.
