GUWAHATI, India, June 6 -- Gauhati High Court issued the following order on May 6:
Heard Mr. S. Haque, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr. I. Borthakur, learned Standing Counsel, Forest Department; Ms. G. Hazarika, learned Standing Counsel, Revenue Department and Mr. S. Baruah, learned Standing Counsel, Assam State Pollution Control Board for the respondents.
In the writ petition, W.P.[C.] no. 1409/2025, the category of code has been mentioned as 10148, which pertains to Bench-IV. However, the Category Code has been changed subsequently to 10189. As a result, the writ petition, W.P.[C.] no. 1409/2025 is allotted to Civil Bench-V. The previous writ petition, W.P.[C.] 50/2025 of the same petitioner pertains to the same subject-matter is under Category Code 10148 and the writ petition, W.P.[C.] 50/2025 is allotted to Civil Bench-IV.
The Registry is to examine the reason for changing the Category Code of the writ petition no. 1409/2025 from '10148' to '10189' which is otherwise residual Category Code. Both the cases be listed, thereafter, before the appropriate bench in the next week.
