RANCHI, India, Dec. 31 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Dec. 1:
1. Heard the parties.
2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Nawalshahi P.S. Case No. 18 of 2025 corresponding to Special POCSO Case No. 16 of 2025, for the offences registered under Section 96 of the B.N.S., 2023 and Sections 8 & 12 of the POCSO Act, subsequently cognizance has been taken under Sections 137(2), 87 & 64(2)(m) of the B.N.S., 2023 and Section 6 r/w Section 5(l) of the POCSO Act, pending in the Court of learned Addl. Sessions Judge-I-cum-Special Judge, (POCSO Act), Koderma.
3. On 28.11.2024, petitioner is alleged to have enticed away daughter of the informant to leave her lawful guardianship with an intention to marry her. During the course of investigation, statement of victim was recorded. She was assessed to be about 17 years. She has stated that she left her lawful guardianship according to her own wish and she wanted to marry this petitioner. She has further stated that she went to Bangalore with this petitioner.
4. This appears to be the case of adolescence love affairs between the parties.
5. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, named above, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Addl. Sessions Judge-I-cum-Special Judge, (POCSO Act), Koderma in connection with Nawalshahi P.S. Case No. 18 of 2025 corresponding to Special POCSO Case No. 16 of 2025.
