JHARKHAND HIGH COURT ISSUES ORDER ON BANDHANA BARLA V/S THE STATE OF JHARKHAND

RANCHI, India, Nov. 2 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 6:

1. Heard the parties.

2. Petitioner has been made accused in connection with Kamdara P.S. Case No. 34 of 2025 for the offence registered under Section 70(1) of the B.N.S., 2023, pending in the Court of learned Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gumla.

3. On 16.05.2025 at about 9.00 pm, the petitioner along with five co-accused persons are alleged to have gang raped the prosecutrix.

4. Considering the nature of allegation, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail is rejected.

5. Learned Trial Court shall expedite the trial.
