RANCHI, India, March 10 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Feb. 9:

1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. The present writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs :-

"(a) for issuance of an appropriate writ, order, or direction, including Writ of Mandamus, commanding upon Respondent No.2 to take a decision on the representation made by the petitioner that has been pending since 07.01.2025 (Annexure-4) wherein request has been made for release of JCB Machine of the petitioners bearing Registration No.OD-14Y-9838 and Registration No.OD-14AC-6578.

(b) for issuance of for appropriate writ(s), order(s),/ direction(s), directing Respondent No.2 to release the JCB Machines of the petitioners bearing Registration No.OD-14Y-9838 and Registration No.OD-14AC-6578 ."

3. The Only claim, at present has been made by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the proceeding is pending before the concerned authority for such a long period and further, it is commercial vehicles.

4. In that view of the matter, the present writ petition is, hereby, disposed of directing the respondent No.2 i.e. the Divisional Forest Officer -cum- Competent Authority, Chaibasa, West Singhbhum to decide the pending proceeding being Confiscation Proceeding No.18 of 2024, as early as possible, if not already decided.

5. With above direction, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of.

6. Pending interlocutory application, if any, stands disposed of.
