RANCHI, India, May 1 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on March 30:

1. Heard the learned counsel representing the petitioner and the learned counsel representing the respondents.

2. The petitioner, in this writ petition, has prayed for following reliefs: - i) For issuance of an appropriate writ(s), order(s) and direction(s) to the Respondent No.3. Deputy Commissioner, Godda to issue certified copy of order dated 22.05.1995 along with entire order sheet passed in T.L Case No. 06/1995 & T.L. Case No.07/1995 (follow detailed order of T.L. Case No.05/1995) by the Charge Officer, Tasdik, Gandhi Gram, Godda/Respondent No.4, in which the petitioner has already applied requisition on 09.02.2024 at Serial No.1109 and 1110 (Annexure-1 & 2). ii) For issuance of direction to the Respondent No.2 to initiate a departmental proceeding against the Charge Officer, Tasdik Camp, Gandhigram, Godda regarding non-supply of order dated 22.05.1995 along with entire order sheet passed in T.L Case No. 06/1995 & T.L. Case No.07/1995 (follow detailed order of T.L. Case No.05/1995) in which, requisition has been filed for obtaining certified copy on 09.02.2024 at Serial No.1109 and 1110; iii) For issuance of any other appropriate writ or direction for doing conscionable justice to the petitioner.

3. It is really surprising that to obtain the certified copy of the revenue authorities, the petitioner has to approach the High Court by filing application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

4. This is not the only case, which has been filed before this Court. There are several other matters, where the other petitioners have also filed application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India making grievance that the certified copies of the revenue records, which they are seeking to obtain are not being furnished by the revenue authorities.

5. Considering the submission and the prayer made by the petitioner, the petitioner is directed to file fresh application in a proper format and with necessary stamps to the authorities within two weeks.

6. Once the said application is filed along with necessary stamps, the certified copy of documents will be handed over to the petitioner within one week thereafter.

7. With the aforesaid observation, this petition is disposed of.
