RANCHI, India, Nov. 2 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 6:
1. Heard the parties.
2. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Godda (Town) P.S. Case No. 254/2024 corresponding to Special (POCSO) Case No. 25/2025, for the offences registered under Section 96 of the B.N.S. 2023 and Section 12 of the POCSO Act, subsequently cognizance has been taken under Section 96, 64(2)(m) & 65(1) B.N.S. 2023 and Section 6 of the POCSO Act, pending in the Court of learned Addl. District & Sessions Judge-I-cum-Special Judge (POCSO), Godda.
3. Petitioner is alleged to have enticed away minor daughter of the informant with an intention to marry her.
4. Statement of the victim has been recorded under Section 183 of the B.N.S.S., 2023 in which she has stated that she has married to this petitioner. However, her age has been assessed to be 15 years.
5. Considering the age of the victim, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected at this stage.
