RANCHI, India, Nov. 2 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Oct. 6:

1. Both these bail applications arise out of the same police case. Accordingly, both these cases are being disposed of by a common order.

2. Heard the parties.

3. The petitioners have been made accused in connection with Nirsa (Kalubathan O.P.) P.S. Case No. 413/2025, for the offences registered under Sections 303(2), 317(2) & 3(5) of the B.N.S. 2023, Section 11(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act and Section 12 of Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, pending in the Court of Sri R. K. Singh, learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Dhanbad.

4. On 31.07.2025, calf of the informant went missing. Subsequently, the informant came to know that stolen calf was being transported by a vehicle which was stuck in a ditch at a nearby place. Police went to the place of occurrence and seized two vehicles from there and stolen calf was also recovered from one of the vehicles.

5. It was submitted that petitioners are owners of the seized vehicles. It was further submitted that it has not been specified in the written report as to from which vehicle, the stolen calf was recovered. It was also submitted that petitioners are in custody since 01.08.2025.

6. In view of the submissions made above, I am inclined to release the petitioners, on bail. Accordingly, the petitioners, named above, are directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of Sri R. K. Singh, learned Judicial Magistrate, 1 st Class, Dhanbad or his successor in connection with Nirsa (Kalubathan O.P.) P.S. Case No. 413/2025.
